Jerusha Merrill writes about inflated land values, the turmoil and unsettled atmosphere, the high cost of living, and the advantages of investing in real estate and commodities rather than in mining. Included is a letter from her husband to her brother requesting information on certain investments made by Jerusha before leaving for California. Accompanied by typed and manuscript transcriptions.
